Jorge Elizondo Bio
Jorge Elizondo was born and
raised in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, where the sounds of Mexico, the
Caribbean, and the United States meet. In this unique environment, Jorge
trained in Music Education and Latin dance and developed "Bachata Fusion,"
a style of dance that combines turn patterns and body movements from
traditional Bachata, Tango, Cha Cha, and Salsa with many original movements.
The end result is an expressive, active style of dance that removes all
barriers and allow more freedom.
Formerly a public school teacher, Jorge's passion for teaching equals his
passion for dancing. His World Bachata BootCamp tour has taken him to 400
cities throughout North America, Asia, Europe, Australia and South America,
where he has taught tens of thousands of students. Throughout all his journeys,
he has continued to develop new concepts to share with the world. He has
produced 30 instructional DVDs ranging from beginning bachata, Bachata Rueda,
Bachata Tango, Argentine Tango, Cha cha, Cumbia to salsa, and his work has been
sold in over 40 countries. His strong leading abilities and worldwide exposure
also earned him a place in the "World's Best Leads" DVD Created by
the world-renowned Edit the Salsa Freak!.
Jorge's mission is to spread the
love of Bachata all over the world and encourage people to live a healthier,
more active lifestyle. His learn to dance series
has been touted as a useful learning tool for any neophyte as well as any
established dancer who yearns to either learn one of the great Latin dances or
to add Bachata to their dance arsenal.
What’s
next for Jorge is that he hopes to somehow implement a difference in the lives
of those attending his classes. For Jorge, dance is more than a job or a hobby;
it was a life altering experience that continues to have an impact on him every
day. With tours and DVDs lining up, Jorge is ecstatic about meeting new people
and introducing them to Bachata. He wholeheartedly believes this is the next
big thing in Latin Dance and he shares a special connection with this art form
and feels it can some day impact many whether it is through physical health or
just having a great time on the dance floor.
